The Optimist- Shrimp la Plancha

Ford Fry does it AGAIN! The Optimist is a seafood restaurant located on the Westside off of Howell Mill road. This restaurant is a little pricey but everything there is done perfectly. The Optimist has so many of my favorites from the old fashions, the seasonal winter old fashion with cinnamon syrup, the spicy kale salad, and the shrimp toast but the MUST HAVE here is the Shrimp la Plancha. The Shrimp la Plancha is so amazing!! The La Plancha is a appetizer with large head on shrimp, with this amazing sauce, on top of buttered housemade toast. This dish is messy but so so worth it, its messy for a first date but honestly its so good I don't even care I'll get messy for this. The sauce is so delicious and unmatchable (trust me I tried to make it at home.) If you are sharing this appetizer with someone I recommend asking for a extra piece of buttered toast because I need the whole piece to myself. And just like Superica has their popsicles you can secretly ask for The optimist has buttered housemade rolls you can ask for which are so good. After writing this now I am craving it I think I'll go for dinner.
